HOW TO MAKE FLASH DRIVE BOOTABLE
Have you been facing problems with your CD-ROM while trying to installing windows? or when trying to install windows xp you have to skip some files to finish the installation? i have a solution for that now. Do u know you can install windows by booting your computer using flash drive?. am going to show you step-by-step how you can do that
Step 1: Open command prompt
Step 2: type "diskpart" without the cote, Allow the diskpart command window to pop-up
Step 3: type "list disk" it list all the drives connected to the system and the drives in the system
Step 4: in the listed drives check the number which represent the flash drive e.g like for the main hard drive is assign as "0" for the flash drive it will probably be assign as 1
Step 5: then type "select disk 1"
Step 6: then type "list volume" without the quote, it will list all the volumes in the computer
Step 7: in the listed volumes, check which number is assign to the volume which represent the flash drive
Step 8: then type "select volume 3"
Step 9: type "clean" without the quotes Step 10: then type "create partition primary" without the quote a partition will be created in the flash drive
Step 11: type "select partition 1" where 1 is the partition you created
Step 12: type "format fs=fat32" and press enter. in this process it takes a little time to reach 100%. when done then
Step 13: type "active"
Step 14: type "assign"
now we are done with the conversion of flash drive to boot able then we are now to copy the whole windows files to the flash drive, make sure you did not the files in a folder before copying it to the flash. NB: u should disable your antivirus before copying the files because it will delete the Autorun file which is very important in the process. if copying is completed eject the flash. you can now boot your system using the flash drive instead of CD-ROM.:)
